Winter is coming… For Dubrovnik that means free city tours!
Tourists visiting the beautiful city of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia are in for an extra treat this winter, as the city’s tourist board is offering free city tours.
Free city tours of Dubrovnik for the winter season.
Starting this Saturday (5 November) and continuing every Saturday until March 2017, visitors can enjoy a free hour-and-a-half-long tour of the Old Town with an English-speaking guide, culminating in a free performance of traditional folk music and dancing by the group FA Linđo in front of the imposing St Blaise’s Church.
Tours start at 10 am outside the Tourist Information Centre next to Pile Gate and should be booked at least one day in advance by emailing or calling the tourist office (see tzdubrovnik.hr for details). They are only available to independent travellers, not those already part of an organised tour.
The tours are part of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival programme and are intended to encourage tourists to visit the city outside its traditional summer high season. It is now much easier to visit Dubrovnik outside the traditional tourist season, with direct flights from London Gatwick, Frankfurt and Istanbul operating throughout the winter.
